The 10L1000 has many short comings that cause failures with or without engine tuning with common issues seen from the E clutch, torque converter and main drum just to name a few. They are a very problematic transmission. Unfortunately a fact of life of every 10 speed owner even in stock applications is the inevitable main drum wear and eventual failures as a result of the wear. However with the right upgrades and build quality they can be made to be a much more reliable transmission.
